It’s not the meat that makes the memories, it’s the meet.
Heat and eat no meat and beat disease. As mentioned in the title, it is not the meat you serve at your most memorable moments with your family, it is the company. Yes we have our favorite meals that we serve at special events in our lives but they can be replaced in a plant based version and we can still have a great time. Also, we will enjoy more moments if we live longer by eating healthier and pain free. Like mentioned in yesterday’s blog we age less quickly if we eat more plant based by preventing killing our telomeres. Keeping our telomeres healthy also helps us stay alive longer, to enjoy more time with our families.
We believe it is the spices that make the dish. If you ate a “meat” burger without a grill or a seasoning it would be horrible. What makes a burger great is the grill, the spice we add to the meat, the perfect bun and the dressings. Same can be done with a "plant based” meat burger; especially the “Impossible” burger from Burger King. But it can be made in a plant based method at home as well. There are many different recipes for plant based burgers. Most meals that use meat are possible to imitate, some are more difficult. We are still working on chicken wings but they are tricky. The texture of chicken is harder to imitate; however, there is a product we enjoy when we am not experimenting: “Tofurkey”. Another favorite substitution for chicken is a coated mushroom shiitake for out general tao meal. Although “Yves” meat no longer exists for plant based ground beef, Gusta is what we use instead. Ideally we would like to produce as many different meals that replace meat and poultry as possible. Hand held, like burgers are not on our menu because of the lack of freshness when delivered.
Ideally we would like to create as many meals that are comforting and convenient for busy families without the meat. Most importantly, we hope they are delicious for them and that texture and taste is not sacrificed. Also, as many different types of meals from across the globe. Certain areas like the Mediterranean already produce meals closest to plant based, but why not make everyone happy. We are open to suggestions for people’s favorite meals from anywhere in the world. We have a base list of 400 recipes already, but we cannot include everything in my website. On our website the menu is based on popular choices. So please give Cantine Kat a try and give us your feedback or, request your own personal taste, we are ready.
