Aging slower than your chronological age!

An 8 week study that was featured in a Netflix documentary called, “You are what you eat” was conducted on twins to determine the effects of eating healthy omnivore verses plant based diets. Amongst other discoveries that we will discuss at a later date, the most fascinating was that with exercise and healthy plant based diets you can slow your chronological age with a different biological age. Not only was there proof after 8 weeks from this study by personally when I did the test with a special scale a few years back, I was biologically younger by 12 years of my chronological age from eating a vegetarian diet. How does that happen.

“Telomeres are protective, repetitive DNA-protein complexes at the ends of chromosomes that prevent degradation and maintain genetic stability, acting similarly to plastic tips of shoe laces. They shorten with each cell division, acting as a molecular clock that dictates cell aging (senescence). When telomeres become too short, cells stop dividing and die. This shortening process is associated with aging , cancer and a high risk of death.” Health University of Utah. In the study conducted in “You are what you eat”, the telomeres were longer with the vegan diets.

As in the study of Dr. Sanjay Gupta, “Keep Sharp” that lasts 12 weeks, he encouraged five important goals for a healthy life and brain.

  1. “Move more throughout your day and build an exercise routine into your life

  2. Find new ways to stimulate your brain through learning and challenging your mind.

  3. Prioritize getting restful, routine sleep at night and incorporate daily destressing practices into your routine

  4. Introduce a new way of nourishing your body.

    5. Connect authentically with others and maintain a vibrant social life.”

    The message is repetitive, yet it doesn’t seem to be getting through to people. You really are what you eat. What you eat will effect your health directly because it is was you ingest. If you ingest poison you will die instantly, but if you ingest unhealthy choices in time you will poison your system and live uncomfortably. A vegetarian-pescatarian, plant based diet will not cure disease, but it might help build a fight against it.
