Why vegetarian-pescatarian?

After several years of preparing foods that involve meat and hearing my mother complain everyday, and many times a day about her back hurting; I decided to try something different. Of course it helped to watch Netflix’s “What the Health” documentary. What I learnt from the documentary is that if you eat less or no meat, processed foods and drinks you will avoid pain and not need to medicate. So I had nothing to lose in trying with my mom. Well to my surprise, she has no more pain to complain about and doesn’t have to take Tylenol anymore. Also, the main concern with people when I tell them my choice of eating plant based is how do we get our protein. The new explosive trend. Protein is found in many alternatives and we only need a certain amount of grams a day depending on your weight and level of exercise. It is almost as if people (that would like to lose weight) think that by eating more or only protein will build muscle and that muscle will burn fat. They forget that you must work out (exercise) for that to happen. And for most, exercise is a bad, impossible task. The real task for me was to create meals we were used to eating (meat included) into a plant based version. I am still discovering new ways but the most effective is by using spices and working on different techniques to create textures that are similar. That is what is on the menu of Cantine Kat; however, we want to make the experience unique for every person interested in trying something new.

Every order must be chosen by you the client, down to your favorite ingredients, spices and side dishes; regardless of the menu on our website. We want to know what your favorite meals are so when you get home from a long day at work or play, all you have to do is take it out of the fridge or freezer, heat it and eat it ; while you know it is healthy for you! With our meals you will feel happy and energized. Happy because it is your favorite meal and energized because it does not contain any inflammatory ingredients in it. Also, it is a experimental fact that when eating plant based you have less of an appetite. That is how my mom and I feel. So: less appetite=less eating= less weight gain and +weight loss. Then add exercise to that: less calories+ exercise= weight loss. Simple math!

It will definitely take longer to arrive at your goal with a change of lifestyle; rather than a quicker starving diet will but the results will last longer. Try it for one month without exercise and you will see a difference!

Cantine Kat thanks you for you attention.
